Privacy Policy
Last updated
taxthresholds.com is a static site with no user accounts and no database. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit, who it is shared with, and how you can control it.
What we do not collect
The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter, income, profit, dates, filing status, are never sent to us. They exist only in your browser tab and in the page's URL if you choose to share a result link.
Cookies and local storage
The site itself does not set any cookie to operate. It stores one item in your browser's local storage, your cookie consent choice (accepted or rejected), so the consent banner does not reappear on every visit. This is strictly necessary and is not used for tracking. See the cookie policy for the full list of cookies set by third parties once you accept.
Google AdSense
This site intends to show ads served by Google AdSense. AdSense and its partners may set cookies and use device identifiers to serve personalised ads, and to measure ad performance, but only after you accept non-essential cookies through the consent banner. If you reject non-essential cookies, AdSense may still serve non-personalised ads, which rely on contextual information rather than a cookie-based profile.
Google is a third-party vendor on this site. You can review and control how Google uses data for ad personalisation, and opt out of personalised advertising across the web, at Google Ad Settings. Google also publishes a general explanation of how it uses data from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Analytics
This site uses a third-party analytics service provided by Google to count visits and to see which pages and calculators are actually used, so that effort goes to the tools people need. It sets cookies, so it only runs after you accept non-essential cookies through the consent banner. If you reject non-essential cookies, the analytics script is never loaded and nothing about your visit is sent to Google, not even a page view.
What it reports is aggregate: page views, referrers, and which tool was used. The figures you type into a calculator are not part of it. Those figures are written into the page address so that a result stays linkable, but the address reported to Google is cut back to the page path with the query string removed, so your inputs are not sent. The cookies involved are listed in the cookie policy.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you submit are sent, via the site's server, to a private Discord channel so the site owner can reply. They are not added to any mailing list, not sold, and not used for any purpose beyond responding to your message. Submissions are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile to filter automated spam; Turnstile may process your IP address and browser signals under Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
Data controller
The data controller for this site is the site owner, contactable via the contact page. The third-party vendors named above, Google for advertising and analytics and Cloudflare for spam filtering, act as their own data controllers for the processing they carry out.
Your rights
Because this site holds almost no personal data outside of what you voluntarily submit through the contact form, there is little to request. If you have submitted a contact form message and want it deleted, get in touch and it will be removed from the Discord channel.
Changes to this policy
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and logged on the changelog.
